the distance is nothing.

im getting rather sick of typing out different things, hahha! i write an email to famillyy, basically the same one to friends, to my cooosin and my bestfriend. its getting a tad tiring and my fingers hurt. but i think its important to write of my adventures in a journal and i cant frikken copy and paste in this!

i think im finally caught up in my sleep, the first night was horrid (but i think i already told you that) and since that its been smooth sailing. as the days go on, its getting easier to be away from home- but still at night when im alone, i cant help but think about everybody and just cry a little (i guess thats normal).

it is so gorgeous here and absoloutley nothing like home, but i dont think its a place that i would want to live forever...a year will do me good i think. im not a fan of not understanding what people are saying, and i feel like everybody that i walk by just stares and can tell that i am not german. i know its really weird to say that, but its true...i feel like germans all have this feature in their faces that you can just tell that they are germans. and then their is me. hahah, hopefully i learning is a little easier here than it was at home.

boys are rougher for sure (i think ive already accumulated a few bruises-but hey that means that they are warming up to me) and its definatley better than the bitchy attitudes that you get from the majority of girls.

austria (osterich) was absoloutley gorgeous, the hills are amazing and the scenary is gorgeous... our cottage was at the top of a mountain, we had to drive up for 10 minutes just to get to the cottage and atleast 10-15minutes just to get through the town; driving isnt my cup of tea, but it was a nice change and definatley a nice experience.

did you know that you have to pay to use public washrooms around here? its crazyy, but not the worst idea...keeps them clean thats for sure. annd they dont have shave gel for women (in the small town anyway) ...anja had never heard of women using it before and told me that i could use the mens! haha...ill pass.

ive also learned that germans are very ashamed of their past, its sad really. the past is not their fault. ingolf told me that german wont even display their flag...because if you do...people will think that you are a nazi; which is completely untrue, and even though the past wasnt the greatest....it shouldnt be brought into our future.

i cant repeat myself enough when i say how different the culture is around here, there are trees everywhere and farm animals as well (it doesnt always smell the greatest).

i dont like the thought of having to wait until the afternoon to call my mom, it sucks having to wait all day just to hear her voice. i just talked to her a little online, but its not the same. i cried the first two days that i talked to her, its hard hearing her speak...she's my rock; hopefully im at the point where i can keep my emotions in tact.
