i knew it would be hard as hell to leave my friends, and its really shown to be true.

i cannot even get over the laws in the country, they actually sort of make me want to scream. we were all talking last night and they were telling me about all of the ridiculousness of it all; the boy across the street is doing better in school than Bastian because his parents paid the teacher. apparently that a well know "secret" and very common around here, kids pass by because of the money they're parents earned. Its very competitive over here, if you are not a doctor, lawyer etc. then really, your absoloutley nothing...in fact, this family wasnt welcomed on their street or invited to neighbourhood parties until because they did not hold such careers, and they werent really welcomed until they opened their own business. i would have been out of here before they even brought the couch in. The age for a man to legally have sex with a girl here is 12. thats just to name a few; its insane... but who am i to really judge, i can disagree heavily (which i do) but its an entire country we're talkin about here and i guess it works for them.

im still not 100percent what my purpse is here, shes always home and all i really do is help her a little around the house and keep the youngest entertained when he's not with his little friends. the family is amazing and i really do feel a part of it (except when theres a lot of german being spoken and i dont understand). i like it here, and even though i feel as though i dont really have a purpose here im definately not ready to go home and start life; because i dont even know what i want from it.
